James Hamilton, MAICD – Executive Chairman

Mr Hamilton is a business developer with 19 years experience in the resources sector specialising in the analysis of exploration projects, mines and management teams across a large spectrum of mineral commodities.  In the past six years he has founded three public resource companies, one being Spitfire Resources, in Australia and United Kingdom. During his time he has held senior roles in operations management, marketing, treasury, project development and corporate compliance. Mr Hamilton is also a former award-winning financial journalist who specialised in covering the global resources industry. He is the former Editor of Australian technical mining journal Australia’s Mining Monthly. He has also been editor of dedicated mining investment magazine ResourceStocks and remains the founder of mining information news service, MiningNews.net. Mr Hamilton is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.


John Mackenzie, BPE, GradCertBus(ProfAcct), MBA, MAICD - Managing Director

Mr. Mackenzie is a business development professional with over 20 years experience in investment and financial services. He has extensive capital raising, corporate development and transaction experience within the resource sector and has worked previously within the Big Four accounting environment and with a major US Investment Bank. Mr Mackenzie has a Masters Degree in Business Administration, is member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is currently completing the Chartered Accountants Program. 


Ian Huitson, BEng- Non Executive Director

Mr. Huitson has a Degree in Engineering (Mining Engineering) with 25 years experience in operational and technical roles in the Manganese, Chromite, Gold and Nickel mining industries in Australia. Ian has extensive manganese experience in Australia through roles as the Chief Operating Officer at Auvex Resources Ltd (2009-2011) and Group Mining Engineer at Consolidated Minerals Ltd (2005-2007) and Resident Manager at Consolidated Minerals Ltd’s Woodie Woodie mine site (1999-2005). In addition to the above, Ian has extensive management experience including roles as Operations Director and Managing Director at Monarch Gold Mining Company Ltd (2007-2009). Prior to this Ian had 15 years experience with WMC Resources, Dominion Mining/Plutonic Resources and the Walhalla Mining Company.


Russell Hardwick, BBus, ACIS CPA – Non Executive Director and Company Secretary

Mr. Hardwick is an Accountant with 15 years experience with a variety of private and public companies. Most recently he has served as Company Secretary for AIM-listed minerals exploration company Churchill Mining PLC. He is a Certified Practicing Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries. Mr. Hardwick has experience in capital raisings, ASX and ASIC compliance and general business and financial management.


Stuart Peterson, BSc, MAusIMM - Exploration Manager

Mr. Peterson is an experienced field geologist who has specialised in the search for uranium, iron ore and manganese ore bodies. Most recently Mr. Peterson worked at Murchison Metals where he was a member of the discovery team which proved up and modelled the 100 Million Tonne Rocklea Channel Iron Deposit. Stuart also headed up Murchison’s global asset review and strategy team which collected current data on the world’s iron ore deposits. This data review enabled real time market positioning of the world’s iron ore associated private and public holding structures. Previously Stuart has worked for Sinosteel Midwest and was a member of the team that conducted the $62 million pre-feasibility study on the world-class 3 Billion Tonne Weld Range banded iron deposit.


Nat Cull, BAppSc, MAIG – Consultant Geologist

Mr. Cull is a geologist with over 20 years experience in the exploration and mining sectors, including several years in resource estimation and two years working in the former Soviet Union. He has worked in commodities such as gold, silver, copper, chrome, coal, iron and manganese. The most recent decade of his career has predominantly focussed on manganese. Mr Cull currently consults to various manganese explorers within Australia and is Managing Director of a private manganese explorer with interests in the Northern Territory.
